The annual conference of the Network for Real-World Laboratories<\/a> will take place in Dresden on April 11 and 12, 2024.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The call for abstracts<\/a> is open until December 10, 2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The conference \u201cReal-World Labs \u2013 Spaces for Experimentation on the Path to a Sustainable Society\u201d aims to continue the discourse on real-world lab research and practice. The transition to a sustainable society requires creativity, courage, and an openness to stepping off the beaten path. Where and how can real-world labs create spaces for experimentation to design and test ideas for the future that promote the transition to sustainable cities and neighborhoods, villages and landscapes, as well as oceans and rivers? The conference is dedicated to conceptual, methodological, and practical questions of research and design in real-world laboratories. It fosters dialogue between researchers and practitioners, change agents, and urban and regional developers, and facilitates an exchange of perspectives and experiences from both research and practice. The conference creates a space for dialogue to address, in particular, the location and spatial relationships of real-world laboratories, their systematic documentation and knowledge transfer, as well as the establishment of real-world laboratories as a research and governance approach. It aims to serve as an invitation to reflect together and synthesize insights, while at the same time establishing new partnerships through real-world laboratories and advancing the transition toward a culture of sustainability.<\/p>\n

The annual conference of the \u201cReal-World Laboratories for Sustainability\u201d network<\/a> will be hosted by the Leibniz Institute for Ecological Spatial Development e. V. in 2024. It will take place at the German Hygiene Museum in Dresden<\/a>. On April 10, we will hold an introductory event in the form of an interactive workshop. This event is especially open to participants who may have little or no personal experience with real-world laboratories and would like to learn about the fundamentals of real-world laboratory research. On the afternoon of April 12, the \u201cReal-World Laboratories for Sustainability\u201d network will meet.<\/p>\n
