Our \u201cMobile Blue-Green Infrastructure<\/strong>\u201d real-world lab, part of the GartenLeistungen_02<\/a> project at StadtManufaktur TU Berlin<\/a>, is celebrating the opening of the test site<\/strong> in Berlin-Kreuzberg together with the RadBahn Berlin real-world lab<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In collaboration with the RadBahn team and colleagues from the fields of environmental and process engineering, we have installed a test bed filter<\/strong>. In this real-world experiment<\/strong>, we collect rainwater<\/strong> that previously flowed unused from the elevated railway into the sewer system, filter it using eco-technical methods, and evaporate it in a climate-friendly and space-saving manner in the \u201cclimate reed bed.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the path to becoming a \u201csponge city\u201d<\/strong> and guided by the motto \u201cWe shape the climate, biodiversity, and atmosphere!\u201d<\/strong>, we\u2019re exploring how we can harness the valuable resource of rainwater from elevated railways and track systems for urban nature and open spaces in the future.<\/p>\n
