TU Berlin’s “Sponge City” North Campus – Vertical Greening for the Hydraulics Hall!
The Charlottenburg Campus is a real-world laboratory for climate protection and adaptation. On the campus, the Hydraulics Hall (Building W) is being retrofitted using EU funding according to the “Sponge City” principle and developed as a venue for research and teaching in a real-world laboratory format.
The design planning is nearly complete, and we are developing the operational and management plans in collaboration with various disciplines. The real-world lab initiative is led by the Institute of Ecology and is being implemented in cooperation with StadtManufaktur. We welcome diverse participation! Just reach out to us, and we’ll show you the current status of the project and our plans! The IBC tanks, which will retain rainwater above ground in the future, are already on site—we’re looking forward to the construction work! >About the Real-World Lab Initiative
