Our Magazine

From October 2019 to October 2020, the StadtManufaktur was in its start-up phase. It served the joint development and testing of methods and instruments. We show excerpts of the results of this phase here in the magazine.

For example, the prototype of a “Platform for Urban Exchange” was developed: a digital data table and hybrid city model that enables and simplifies scenario development and broad social participation. This first prototype can be seen today in the permanent exhibition of CityLab Berlin, with further models to follow.

As an example, StadtManufaktur has selected a large housing estate in the north-east of Berlin and worked in close cooperation with the municipal housing association HOWOGE and a student course on future designs for Neu-Hohenschönhausen. Parts of the drafts for “Last Mile New Neighbourhood” and for “First and Last Mile in Public Transport” can be found under the heading Teaching Format LMNN and under the heading living lab for Neu-Hohenschönhausen.

The constellation analysis is a method of technology, innovation and sustainability research that was developed at the Centre for Technology and Society/TU Berlin and applied in Neu-Hohenschönhausen as a model in the urban space.
