The second expert dialogue hosted by Treffpunkt Bauwende will focus on the blue-green transformation of existing buildings. Four panelists, including Dr. Anja Steglich, will present concrete real-world examples and research projects and answer questions on the topic.

A place for exchange and experimentation: Under the title “Treffpunkt Bauwende,” the site of the Federal Foundation Bauakademie will be used as a space for experimental projects and public exchange until construction on the building begins—a place where the themes of the Bauwende can be experienced firsthand in Berlin-Mitte. TU Berlin is presenting two interventions and is participating in the discussion program.

The Society for Participatory & Transdisciplinary Research and the Network of Sustainability Real-World Labs welcome the legislature’s initiative to improve the legal framework for testing environments, regulatory learning, and the transfer of insights to government, business, and society through a Federal Testing Act (formerly the “Real-World Labs Act”). At the same time, the experts see a significant need for revisions to the current version of the draft bill so that the law can live up to its own claims of sustainability, accessibility, and social effectiveness while upholding established socio-ecological standards.
