To this end, the Network of Real-World Labs for Sustainability (NRN) and the Society for Transdisciplinary and Participatory Research (GTPF, Real-World Labs Working Group) have announced the first nationwide ***Real-World Lab Open House Days*** in 2025. Events, panel discussions, and workshops—both in person and online—will provide insights into current real-world lab research. Here is an overview of the program.
Test sites, experimental areas, and real-world labs exist and are emerging in Berlin and Brandenburg. For some, experimental clauses are relevant within heavily regulated sectors. Others are developing and testing innovative practices without needing to address regulatory requirements. Together with Berlin Partner for Business and Technology, the Senate Department for Economics, Energy, and Public Enterprises, and Zukunftsorte Berlin, we invite providers and interested parties to the 2nd networking meeting to tap into synergies for the growing metropolitan region and make transformation visible!
We will be presenting our climate adaptation projects—ClimateHOOD, GartenLeistungen, ROOF WATER-FARM, and the startup HydroTower—at Green Week 2025. On January 17 and 21, these initiatives will be showcased at the booth of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety, and Consumer Protection (BMUV) with exhibits and a stage program. Come visit us at the booth and join us for the stage program between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m.!

During the week of June 30 through July 6, 2025, all Reallabs are invited to open their doors on one or more days.
