The StadtManufaktur Berlin

Living labs and experiments in urban transformation

The StadtManufaktur is an initiative of the Technische Universität Berlin, the Center for Technology and Society (Zentrum Technik und Gesellschaft) and the Einstein Center Digital Future.

StadtManufaktur projects base on collaborative working and tinker of science and society to forward-looking solutions for Berlin’s urban transformation. They include questions of climate adaptation or the promotion of social coexistence, questions about the establishment of sustainable mobility concepts or the transformation to a city of short distances.

The StadtManufaktur is the contact at TU Berlin for such joint project development. It facilitates matching between scientists and partners from politics, business, culture and civil society. It accompanies collaborative projects and pools the extensive findings from projects in a common knowledge pool.
