Come visit us during the Long Night of Science and the Open Society Day!

Under the motto “How can we actively shape the climate?”, the TU Berlin Climate Envelope is presenting itself in a new look. In collaboration with the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district, StadtManufaktur—TU Berlin’s real-world laboratory platform—is launching the ClimateHOOD_CampusPARK_Charlottenburg project as part of the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development, and Construction’s program “Adaptation of Urban Spaces to Climate Change.” During the Long Night of Science, the ClimateHOOD will showcase mobile blue-green infrastructure such as vertical and floating hydroponic farm modules that produce food in a space- and resource-efficient manner while utilizing rainwater or treated kitchen wastewater and graywater.

In addition, the research projects “TheGreefa” and “CONSIRS” are exploring climate control methods for greenhouses. These projects use a salt solution that absorbs moisture and stores energy through thermochemical processes. The system is also suitable for other drying and climate control applications.
