Our “Mobile Blue-Green Infrastructure” real-world lab, part of the GartenLeistungen_02 project at StadtManufaktur TU Berlin, is celebrating the opening of the test site in Berlin-Kreuzberg together with the RadBahn Berlin real-world lab.
In collaboration with the RadBahn team and colleagues from the fields of environmental and process engineering, we have installed a test bed filter. In this real-world experiment, we collect rainwater that previously flowed unused from the elevated railway into the sewer system, filter it using eco-technical methods, and evaporate it in a climate-friendly and space-saving manner in the “climate reed bed.”
On the path to becoming a “sponge city” and guided by the motto “We shape the climate, biodiversity, and atmosphere!”, we’re exploring how we can harness the valuable resource of rainwater from elevated railways and track systems for urban nature and open spaces in the future.
Come by, check it out, and join the celebration on:
April 25, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. under the viaduct between the Görlitzer Park and Kottbusser Tor subway stations.
We look forward to seeing you!!!
