The ClimateHOOD_CampusPARK Charlottenburg project has started! The Charlottenburg district office and the TU-StadtManufaktur solicited funds from the programme “Adaptation of Urban Spaces to Climate Change” of the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Construction. The project intensifies the strategic and transdisciplinary partnership between the TU and the city of Berlin. Over the next three years, measures will be implemented on the TU campus and in the district to develop the sponge city of Berlin: For example, selected roofs will be connected to cisterns, facades will be greened and places for local food production will be created. All of this serves to transfer rainwater into a natural cycle. On the campus and in the Berlin district of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, information about climate change and climate protection projects is to be provided and commitment and knowledge transfer encouraged. Results from the real labs Mobile Blue-Green Infrastructure, Roof Water-Farm and Climate-Energy-Water are incorporated into the implementation of these measures. The Design & Computation degree programme is involved in the project. Selected measures are linked to the Reallabor Pavilion and Knowledge Pathways. Hands on – we are looking forward to three exciting years!
